Fumed silica for adhesive and sealants

Fumed silica can significantly increase the bond strength and ensure free flow, preventing agglomeration and sag, collapse, depression, and retention during curing.  Transparency, reinforcement, shear resistance, etc.  Its mechanism of action is that when it is dispersed in sealants and adhesives, hydrogen bonds are generated between different particles through the silicon hydroxyl groups on their surfaces to form a silica aggregate network, which limits the fluidity of the system and increases the viscosity.  Thickening effect; under the action of shear force, the silica network is destroyed, resulting in a decrease in the viscosity of the system and a thixotropic effect, which is convenient for construction.  Once the shear force is removed, this network structure can be re-formed, effectively preventing the compound from sagging during the curing process.

• HL-200 is hydrophilic fumed silica with specific surface area around 200m2/g, can be used in coatings & paintings, thin film & upr, htv & rtv silicon rubber,adhesives & sealants, printing ink, cosmetics, silicon elastomers etc.

ELD HB-612 is hydrophobic fumed silica which produced by hydrophilic fumed silica with specific surface area of 150m2/g after chemical post-treatment with HMDS (Hexamethyldisilazane).
